Starburst Art Deco Pendant – Glass Spike Chandelier

The Starburst is a pendant light in the Art Deco manner whose only ornament is geometry: pyramid-shaped glass points radiate on every side from a faceted central body, each ending in a clear tip. The frame is made by hand and nickel-plated, which gives the metal a bright, modern gloss.

Around the centre, triangular and four-sided facets are framed by stepped metal mouldings, and every point sits in its own faceted collar. The points are ribbed frosted glass: countless small V-grooves break and scatter the light, so the lit lamp throws a lively play of light and shadow while the clear tips sparkle.

Straight, geometric lines of this kind are typical of Art Deco. Here they carry the whole design, with no floral or figurative detail, and the lamp is as much a decorative form as a working light.

It is supplied with a hanging chain. Hung over a round dining table of about 120 cm, the star, 65 cm across and 66 cm high, stays well inside the table edge, so the glass points sit above the centre rather than over the chairs. Each new piece is made by hand, and the grooved glass shows its pattern most clearly once the lamp is lit.

Warranty

All our products carry a 24-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and care.
