Yellow Dragon Cache Pots - Qing Style Pair

This pair of hand-made Chinese porcelain cache pots, in the style of the Qing dynasty, is decorated with a striking dragon design on a yellow ground, with a turquoise glaze on the inside. The cylindrical form works equally well as a planter or a brush pot.

The dragon, drawn in soft pastel tones among chrysanthemum and peony blooms, is a characteristic element of Chinese porcelain from this period. The detailed dragon, the imperial-yellow ground and the turquoise interior together make these pots a real decorative statement. A small red character cartouche sits at the rim, in the tradition of Qing-court yellow-ground wares.

Fill the pots with fresh flowers such as sunflowers, ranunculus or tulips, or use them as a matched pair on a console, shelf or sideboard.
