Mason Ginger Jars - Blue and White Pair

A pair of tall ginger jars from China, made after an antique example. Each lidded jar is blue and white Chinese porcelain with a scrolling floral ground and a pointed finial on the lid.

The decor is hand-finished in cobalt blue, with a bold Double Happiness character (shuangxi) at the centre of each jar and a lappet band around the base. The porcelain has the clear ring and solid weight of a good-quality piece.

A classic blue and white pair for a mantel, console or cabinet, equally at home in a traditional or a contemporary room.
