These marble column sculptures are carved from solid black veined marble, with a strong geometric presence. The stacked, faceted modules echo the rhythm of Brancusi's Endless Column, and the cut planes catch the light and shadow that bring out the depth of the stone.

David Liang (b.1976) carves marble entirely by hand, with a precision drawn from a deep knowledge of art history and considerable technical skill. He has worked the raw stone into a refined form, where the natural veining shifts across each facet and adds to the visual movement of the pair.

Supplied as a set of two at differing heights, they read well together on a floor, plinth or console, and suit a contemporary interior that can carry sculptural weight.
