Longevity Baluster Vases - Blue and White Pair

This pair of Chinese porcelain baluster vases, model Longevity, follows antique Chinese examples. Each vase has a dense scrolling floral ground in cobalt blue and a greek-key band at the rim.

Worked into the design is the Chinese Double Happiness character (shuangxi). The floral decor is applied by transfer and the character is then hand-painted, with small moulded handles at the neck.

The vases are made from high-grade Chinese porcelain (kaolin and petuntse) and fired at 1400°C, which gives the body its durability and clear ring. Each one is hand-formed and finished with deliberate, slight irregularities that lift the antique look. They suit cut flowers and blossom branches, and read well as a matched pair on a mantel or console.

All of our products come with a 24-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and care.
