This life-size bronze horse sculpture moves at a trot, a foreleg and the opposite hind leg lifted together, the head turned slightly aside and the mane and tail streaming back. The tension in the shoulders and the angle of the head carry the movement more than any single gesture.
The horse is cast at full size in the lost-wax process (cire perdue). Its verdigris patina is applied by hand: a controlled oxidation of the copper that turns the surface blue-green, with paler streaks running down the neck and flanks and darker tones at the muzzle and lower legs. The bronze withstands wind and weather and is made for permanent outdoor placement, fixed by a 14 cm frame set into the ground.
It is a contemporary bronze garden sculpture, produced in an edition of 25, with no plinth: the hooves stand directly on the ground.
At 220 cm high and 306 cm long it needs open ground, for instance at the far end of a lawn, where it is seen whole from the house and the diagonal of the raised legs gives the trotting silhouette its rhythm against hedge or sky.

Warranty
We aim for the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship in our bronze sculptures. All our products carry a 24-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and care.
