Jasmine Brush Pots - Blue and White Pair

This pair of blue and white Chinese porcelain brush pots follows antique examples. Each cylindrical pot is made from white Chinese porcelain and decorated with a scrolling floral design in indigo blue, applied by transfer.

Made from a mix of kaolin and petuntse and fired at 1400°C, the porcelain has the hardness and clear ring that mark good-quality pieces. The pots are hand-formed and given deliberate slight irregularities and an aged finish to bring them close to the character of antique originals.

They work well as cache pots, as vases for flowers such as tulips, or as a standalone decorative object on a desk or in a cabinet. A pair of brush pots also makes a tidy desk set for pens and brushes.
