Gold Sunburst Mirror Soleil - Convex Gilded Mirror Ø90 cm

This sunburst mirror (miroir soleil) is a present-day piece with an antique look, hand-made after a French model. The frame is built up from solid wood with a fine gesso ground and red bole, over which gold leaf is laid and finished with a soft antique patina.

At the centre sits a convex butler glass with a twisted rope moulding and a black-lacquered rim. The glass is ringed by crisp, straight rays for a strong, graphic sun motif, measuring Ø90 cm overall.
