This bronze panther is modelled after the well-known study by Rembrandt Bugatti (1884–1916), the Italian sculptor who made his name in the early twentieth century with his animal work. Bugatti observed his subjects at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris, capturing animals in motion with rare precision and feeling.

The figure shows the panther in a moment of quiet power: one foreleg extended, the muscles lightly tensed, the tail curved gently upward. The surface keeps the marks of the original modelling, which gives the bronze a living skin and the sense that the animal might step forward at any moment.

The sculpture is cast in bronze using the traditional lost-wax method (cire perdue), a technique in use since antiquity that allows for rich detail and lasting quality. The dark brown patina gives the piece a contemporary feel.

At 20 cm long this is a decorative object of high quality: strong enough to hold attention, yet refined enough to sit comfortably in both modern and classic interiors.
