Bronze Jockey on Horseback Sculpture

A bronze sculpture of a jockey on horseback in the manner of the Wiener Werkstätte, with the pared-back, elongated lines that workshop made its own. Rider and horse are reduced to clean planes, the walk caught in a single forward step.

The piece is made entirely by hand in bronze and finished with a dark brown patina, cast using the traditional lost-wax method. The smooth surface and slim limbs give the group its stylised, early-modern character.

A graphic bronze for a desk, shelf or mantel, suited to a collector of equestrian and early twentieth-century design.
