This blue and white Chinese porcelain temple jar is drawn from antique Chinese models. It is hand-painted throughout in cobalt blue with a continuous frieze of dragons, the long that stands for good fortune and strength in Chinese culture. The lid is crowned by a Fu dog (Buddhist lion), the traditional guardian figure.

The jar is made from a porcelain body of pure kaolin and petuntse, fired at 1400°C. This produces a hard, glassy ceramic; the mark of good Chinese porcelain is its clear ring and considerable weight.

The production method and the antique-look finish give the jar the authentic character of an old piece. A classic addition to any interior, at home on a console, mantelpiece or in a display cabinet. Sold as a single piece.
