Black Marble Rhinoceros Sculptures – Art Deco Pair

This pair of black marble rhinoceros sculptures captures the spirit of Art Deco in a strong, pared-back design. Each rhino is hand-carved from dark marble with pale veining and stands square on a rectangular base, facing inward so the two work as a matched pair.

The carving sets the heavy, armoured body of the rhinoceros against the clean geometry of the 1920s, with the natural white veining of the stone drifting across the polished surface. Each piece carries its own pattern of veins.

The pair sits well on a mantelpiece, console or shelf, and the flat sides of the bases let them double as bookends. A confident choice for an Art Deco or modern interior.
