Art Deco Side Table – Gatsby

The Gatsby is a French Art Deco side table that carries the glamour of the Roaring Twenties. Its round top is cut from burr walnut veneer, with the warm honey tones and swirling figure that made the wood a hallmark of the period. A glossy lacquer finish lifts the grain and gives it depth.

The geometric base is built from three black-lacquered legs that curve up in a shallow U, each one capped with a polished black sphere where it meets the top. They rest on a round black plinth, so the dark frame sets off the amber burl above it. The piece is made by hand with close attention to the join lines and the match of the veneer.

Use the Gatsby as a lamp table beside a sofa, as a small round coffee table in an Art Deco sitting room, or as a bedside table. It pairs well with other period pieces, such as a bronze Art Deco lamp or a geometric rug, for a setting that hangs together.
