Romeinse Marmeren Gaddi Torso

Deze Romeinse Gaddi torso is geïnspireerd op de beroemde de Gaddi-torso, die te zien is in de zaal voor klassieke beeldhouwkunst van de Uffizi in Florence. Het marmeren beeld is bewust als fragment uitgevoerd — zonder hoofd, armen en benen — en gemonteerd op een brede wit marmeren sokkel met ingelegd serpentiniet, een groene marmer soort.

De gefragmenteerde mannentorso staat in een lange traditie, van de beroemde Torso van het Belvedere tot het type van de Ares Borghese: antieke naakten die de beeldhouwkunst van de renaissance tot vandaag hebben gevormd.

Als sculptuurfragment werkt de torso als rustige blikvanger op een sokkel of console, en zet hij een klassiek accent in zowel een modern als een traditioneel interieur.
