De Grotto Marina (KS0013) is een spiegel van 184 cm hoog, volledig met de hand gesneden en geschilderd in massief hout. Het frame is dicht bezet met schelpen, zeesterren, zeepaardjies, koraalvertakkingen, een krab en een zeeschildpad — elk apart gesneden en afgewerkt in verguld champagne-goud met warme bronzen accenten.
De vormtaal verwijst naar de Rococo, waarin rocaille — ornamentiek geïnspireerd op schelpen, rotsformaties, grotten en vloeiende natuurvormen — een centrale rol speelde. In de negentiende eeuw kende deze beeldwereld een nieuwe bloei in de Italiaanse grotto furniture-traditie: fantasierijke meubels en spiegels die leken te zijn opgebouwd uit schelpen, koraal en zeedieren.
De Grotto Marina vraagt met haar royale formaat om een wand met ruimte: een entreehal, woonkamer met hoog plafond, boutique hotel of luxueuze badkamer. Haar maritieme iconografie maakt haar daarnaast bijzonder geschikt voor een villa aan zee, een coastal residence of een stijlvol seafoodrestaurant waar interieur en vise samenkomen.

All of our products come with a 24-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and care.
