Pair of hand-painted Chinese porcelain jardinières with a vivid yellow ground and interior turquoise glaze. Cylindrical walls are enamelled in grisaille with coiling five-clawed dragons among peonies and cloud scrolls; outlines are crisp and even, the glaze smooth and lustrous.

The palette and motifs follow Qing-period court taste: yellow signified imperial authority; the dragon symbolises power, protection and prosperity. Overglaze enamels and the sealed turquoise interior are traditional features of high-quality decorative wares.

For interiors, the controlled geometry and saturated colour work well on consoles, window bays or low plinths. Use as cachepots for orchids or citrus, or display empty to emphasise the graphic surface.
